Cormorant and Lighthouse

A watercolour prepared for a seabird trail in Hoylake now presented as a limited edition (50) giclee print.
the work shows the popular local seabird the cormorant against a historical background of Hoylake at the turn of the 20th century with the forward lighthouse. The forward lighthouse was one of two in Hoylake enabling sailors to triangulate between the two thereby avoiding the busy wrecking industry which involved many shoreline Wirral residents. The image is taken from an old black and white photo and also shows the Hoylake Sailing club and newly built promenade.
