I very rarely use one of my sketches when I am out and about to create a work in the studio. Our Urban sketching meeting for August saw us down on the shore at the Dee estuary in the”boat’s graveyard” The choice of subjects was amazing with rotting hulks as far as the eye could see! I have just returned from my second “tour” to Olhào in Portugal, teaching at the Casa Rosa Boutique Hotel. What a fabulous week! 12 very enthusiastic “students” wonderful weather and fabulous food. We sketched in and around the town in the mornings returning to our base for lunch and painting in the afternoons. Enjoyed a fab morning of sketching , chatting and listening to the sounds of a bustling market. Great to have a catch up with many of the L U.S. sketchers.
